Water Sports

Boating

From the moment you head out onto the lake to take in the 35 kilometres of Mabel Lake’s undeveloped shoreline of hemlock, red cedar and birch, you’ll feel like you’re the only boat on the water. Spend the day wakeboarding, waterskiing, sea-dooing, or just soak up the sun then head back to Mabel Lake Resort’s marina to refuel, grab an ice-cream at the Beach Café or stock up on supplies at our centrally located convenience store.

Swimming

Make sure your bathing suit is tightly secured before using the diving platform or joining the water volleyball competition at Mabel Lake, because the water is so clear any ‘costume malfunction’ is sure to be seen by everyone nearby!

STAND UP PADDLE BOARDING

Bring your SUP to Mabel Lake Resort where the water is refreshing and the winds are almost non-existent during the months of July and August. Take pride in the tightening of your core as you catch your reflection in the mirrored surface.

KAYAKING & CANOEING

There are miles of beautiful shoreline to discover when canoeing on Mabel Lake. The resort offers a map of interesting sites to explore as you take your journey.

For the daring adventurer, the Shuswap River is loved by kayakers. The “Chucks” are for the very skilled only as these are considered to be among the best in the Okanagan. There is plenty of river below the chucks for the less experienced to explore and hone their skills.

If canoeing on the Shuswap, start below the chucks. Your guide or local marina personnel will assist you in launching at the proper starting point.
